Volunteering within
FC Dayton

Helping

FC Dayton depends on volunteers, such as yourself, to bring high-quality soccer programs to the community at affordable prices.

How can I help within my team?

Recreational Coaching

Our volunteer coaches come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are former soccer players looking to stay involved. Others are looking to coach with youth in their community. However, more often than not, our volunteer coaches are parents with children in our Recreational programs.

Whether or not you have any prior experience with soccer, we encourage you to look into becoming a youth soccer coach within our Recreational Soccer League. We provide professional coaches training both internally and by reimbursing for appropriate grassroots level classes held by various instutions, including  US Soccer, United Soccer Coaches and the Positive Coaching Alliance.

We have opportunities available for a variety of levels, and we strongly believe coaching soccer will enrich your life in more ways than you expect

Team Parent

The Team Parent is the primary communication link between parents and coaches.

As an FC Dayton Team Parent, you are the coach’s assistant, cheerleader, and traffic director all in one. These are things you will already be doing if your child is on the team, so take it one more step and help the entire team operate more smoothly!

Every coach needs help arranging snacks and drinks for games, making calls or sending emails/texts when rain makes practice impractical or games are canceled, and keeping an energetic team in line on the sidelines. You’re making a difference for a whole team - a team that includes your child. It’s a great way to make your child’s team a family experience!

Another important role a Team Parent can play is to help with FC Dayton's Times Two policy at every practice and game by ensuring that two adults are always present at all times around children. You can also use your role to encourage spectators to use good language, show good sportsmanship in attitude and behavior, and create an enjoyable day for every player.

Helping out in other ways

I would love to help, but I don't know where to start. Can you help?

Of course! We are always looking for help with jobs large and small. If you are not sure where to start, give us a call or send an email and we will work together.
